IUCA EDUCATION BUILDING
Need to Plan & Build for a new IUCA Education Building
IUCA (International University of Central Asia) was started as PIY (Professional Institute Yraiyim) with 2 departments – Business Administration and linguistics in 2008 on a small campus in Tokmok, which was an extension to a Bishkek medical school. In 2009 with licenses for a total of 5 departments turned into university. Currently, we have 7 departments – Information Technology, International Relations, Economy, Chinese Studies, Education, Central Asian Languages with the goal of serving international students especially for young people in Central Asia. For 2012, we intend also to start the Law Department to raise good lawyers which are greatly needed for the society.
Since 2008, our number of students grew from 50 to 100 in 2009, then to 200 in 2010 and to possibly 350 in Aug. 2012. In a year or two, we will outgrow our current capacity and run out of space for both classrooms and dormitory rooms. If we were to really grow to about 500 – 600 students, we would need a new education building of about 3,000 sq. meters containing the following: Administrative offices for staff and professors Conference/Meeting Room Library Auditorium Cafeteria Large & small classrooms to be shared among departments Etc. The requirement for the new education building needs to be in a central location of Tokmok town, where it is easily accessible and safe for staff and students as well having desirable environment for learning. This year we located such place and have purchased adequate land for such project. Now we are working on the funding for the building which is estimated to be around $1,000,000 USD. |
