IUCA Dormitory Needs
Tokmok is a small town with limited resources – university students, professors, housing, and part time jobs for studetns. Nevertheless, it provides quiet, tranquil and ideal environment for teaching and learning. More than 50% of students are from out of town, out of region, and even out of country – strangers to the place. Therefore housing becomes very critical for the success of our university. Even though local apartments are scarce, a couple months ago we discovered a newly renovated “old” apartment complex which just became available . Its location is ideal for us, in a convenient and central area of town, within walking distance to IUCA campus, public library, sports school and our future educational building. Each room is in its barren stage, and requires major renovation, interior decoration, and furnishing before they can serve as dormitory room to student. We bought 12 units and need to get them ready for school before Aug. 2011.
The purchase of these 12 units is around $95,000 ($7,500-8,000/unit) and the renovation and the remaining get ready will be around $85,000 ($7,000/unit). These can serve as housing for both out of town professors and for students. |
