International University of Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan

The Kyrgyzstan project is dedicated to building student dormitories and education center for the International University of Central Asia (IUCA). AIT Mission hopes to improve the learning and living environment of the students in IUCA by working with Central Asia Sharing Aid (CASA) and their international partner, MCCF, which is Mercy Charitable Christian Foundation (YRAIYIM), a non-profit public foundation.

The International University of Central Asia is located in Tokmok, a city in the northern Kyrgyzstan with about 60,654 population. Tokmok itself was the kind of town that no one thought much of. In Soviet times it was a secret military town with a big air base. It was also thought to be full of people with connections to organized crime. The Mayor of the city and the Governor of Chuy Oblast are now enthusiastically supporting a plan to establish Tokmok as a university city - to be what Dubna is to Moscow or Ann Arbor is to Michigan.

More About CASA and MCCF

Central Asia Sharing Aid (CASA) is a Christian humanitarian organization founded in 2000, committed to the well being and spiritual renewal of Central Asian people, especially children. Through education, health care, economic development, building international awareness and understanding, and other charitable activities, CASA. helps children and communities help themselves.

MCCF is established in 2000 to care for the orphans and needy children of Kyrgyzstan. The ministry has expanded to include Christian schools, & orphanages, a school for the disabled, an experimental farm, plans for a pediatric medical and dental clinic, plans for a vocational/technical college, plans for a future Central Asian Christian University, and promoting economic development in Kyrgyzstan through the sister city program between Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan and Rockford, Illinois.

The founder of CASA and MCCF, Elder Chia Shan Yang, is a retired shipping broker and merchant marine captain. He and his wife, Yuen Chen Yang, had previously served as missionaries to Kazakhstan. It was during this period that Elder Yang felt led by God to start Christian schools. He was reminded of becoming a believer himself through a missionary school in China. He soon met another missionary with a similar vision. They joined force and started Mercy Foundation of Kyrgyzstan. C.A.S.A. is a major supporter of Mercy Foundation
